Movement and breathing can heal. The AEQ method gives us a new opportunity to address chronic pain, physical and mental problems of the 21st century

MORE ABOUT THE AEQ METHOD

HOW TO START

HOW TO START

Are you in pain? You aren’t alone.

Do your muscles hurt due to a recent injury? Does something in your body hurt you for a longer period, so you assume that it’s the result of sitting, a wrong step, tensions in the workplace, or at home? You may have had chronic pain for years, which was diagnosed by the medical profession and tried to relieve the pain with painkillers and physiotherapy, both unsuccessful? Are you in constant stress, which shows in your general wellbeing? Are you waking up with a dry throat?

THE MOST COMMON PROBLEMS THE AEQ METHOD CAN HELP SOLVE:

  • Chronic back pain
  • Herniated disc
  • Joint wear
  • Headaches
  • Scoliosis
  • Migraines
  • Chronic leg pain
  • Chronic arm pain
  • Asthma
  • Allergies
  • Dermatological conditions
  • Sleep apnea
  • Burnout
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Insomnia

For the listed problems, which we all know of, the solution is offered by the AEQ method developed by Aleš Ernst from the clinical somatics of the philosopher Thomas Hanna for many years.

Allow us to give you back control into your own hands with the help of the AEQ method.

With the AEQ method, we safely, gently, and reasonably eliminate chronic pain causes in the long run. It’s an education process through which we retrain and consciously change our behavior, posture, and movement. It’s an active, not passive method, a successful way of sensory-motor organic learning, which teaches us how to remove most of our chronic pain in the muscles and movement restriction.

You will learn how to move correctly with the help of simple exercises of the AEQ method and change your habits that cause an imbalance in your body. AEQ exercises allow your brain to redirect and gain control of a new way of movement. Not only will you, if you will do the exercises regularly, walk more fluidly, and without pain, you will also get rid of your painful emotional baggage, stress, and anger.

How different should it be at all, when you are no longer in pain, when you wake up rested, feel energetic, comfortable, and painless in your body!

Joy is key to maintaining youth and joy, and a healthy body is the key to freedom!

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

No more back pain.

“The pain was influencing how I felt, disturbed my training, and shortened my 16/17 tour for one month. Besides the back pain, I also had trouble sleeping due to fatigue and too much stress. I haven’t managed to figure out why I had so many health issues and what might cause them. I knew that fatigue resulted from all the training and stress, but I didn’t get rid of it even when I was resting.

Permanently rigid back muscles.

When Aleš introduced me to the AEQ method, which focuses on chronic muscular tension as a reaction to a traumatic event or stress, I became aware that the problem is in sensory-motor amnesia. I also developed chronic muscular tension, which I blamed on aging and excessive physical exertion. But age itself isn’t the real culprit here; muscle reflexes become a habit due to everything we do in our life. What first seemed like the result of aging turns out to be sensory-motor amnesia, which happens due to high amounts of stress and injuries. Chronic muscular tension that becomes our natural state through the years is resistant to any drug, even with manual therapy, I couldn’t eliminate it.

I came across Aleš through Google, where I was desperately trying to find anything that would help with my spine problems, especially painful walking, which wasn’t eliminated even with a hip replacement surgery when I was 44.

What is the AEQ method? It is an innovative approach developed by my great teacher Aleš Ernst, from which I have learned for three years now. It looks like a mix between yin yoga and tai chi, but when you feel the method, you realize that its more than that – more revolutionary and advanced. It includes AEQ breathing, a special breathing technique, and special body movements that allow for deeper relaxation of emotional trauma and chronic pain.

It’s been over a year since I have started learning the AEQ method with the guidance of Aleš Ernst. Through regular use of the method, I understand more and more about integrated connectivity. I also understand that change is only possible when you accept responsibility for it.

While with most methods, we try to eliminate pain on a certain body part (neck, hips, back, …), the AEQ method understands that pain in the body is only a piece of a larger pattern of our dysfunction. These patterns show how we react to stress, which involves muscular contraction.

Sensory-motor amnesia and the dysfunctions it causes manifest in three possible movement patterns, which we call the green light reflex (go forward), red light reflex (stop, go back), the trauma reflex (the result of injuries), and the freeze reflex (panic or life-threatening fear-paralysis).

About the founder

From a young age, I was a passionate sportsman. My career in teaching others began in fitness and kettlebells and teaching customers about correct movements while under pressure.

I have had pain in my hip, which I tried to eliminate using different medical assistance methods, bodybuilding, massage, chiropractors, and physiotherapy. Still, because nothing helped, I just got used to the pain. Later on, when I started studying the possible causes, I stumbled upon the teachings of Thomas Hanna, a teacher of clinical somatics. When I saw the first possible solutions to my problem that didn’t include surgery, I delved deeper into learning the method with Martha Peterson and other experts. After a few days of performing the exercises, I noticed an incredible improvement: which made me want more.

You can find out more about teachers of a certain level of the AEQ method by clicking on any of the titles.

TEACHER OF THE AEQ METHOD, LEVEL 1

A certified level 1 teacher of the AEQ method:

  • Can teach basic AEQ movement to help improve sensation, control, orderliness, and efficiency of movement and control over muscles.
  • Knows the basics of sensory-motor amnesia and somatic responses to stress and injuries.
  • Masters the fundamental principles of the AEQ method and clinical somatics and can help change the sensory-motor patterns causing chronic pain, movement limitations, and lowering the quality of life.
  • It can help with any condition where we feel that we have trouble with contracted, shortened, and tense muscles, which we cannot relax even if we try.
  • It can help us learn when we feel numbness, disconnect, or loss of control over the body and are feeling helpless and alienated due to our current condition.
  • Can help eliminate recurring injuries caused by repeated movement at sports or being forced to maintain a certain position at work by teaching us how to improve control over muscles and increase movement efficiency.
  • Can teach the principles of the AEQ method and AEQ exercises, alleviating and facilitating the elimination of the following chronic pains and problems: back pain, neck pain, sciatica, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel, knee pain, heel spur, hyperlordosis, hyperkyphosis, piriformis syndrome, thoracic syndrome, frozen shoulder, headaches, shallow breathing, migraines, tendonitis, muscle cramps, joint pain, chronic fatigue, tingling sensations in the palms and fingers.

TEACHER OF THE AEQ METHOD, LEVEL 2

A certified level 2 teacher of the AEQ method:

  • Can teach and combine basic AEQ exercises to improve sensation, control, orderliness, movement efficiency, and muscle control in severe forms of sensory-motor amnesia and stronger and longer-lasting chronic pain and problems.
  • Has a deeper knowledge of the causes and consequences of sensory-motor amnesia and recognizes and influences somatic responses to stress and injury.
  • Understands the principles of the AEQ method and clinical somatics and knows how to help change the sensory-motor patterns that cause strong chronic pain, more difficult movement limitations, and decreased quality of life.
  • Can greatly help in all conditions of strongly contracted, too short, tense muscles, which cannot be relaxed even with the greatest attention and desire.
  • It can help us when we feel numbness, disconnect, or loss of control over the body and are feeling helpless and alienated due to our current condition.
  • Can help eliminate recurring injuries caused by repeated movement at sports or being forced to maintain a certain position at work by teaching us how to improve control over muscles and increase movement efficiency.
  • Knows how to increase movement synchronization helps the athlete improve his results through better motor intelligence and a more efficient movement range.
  • Can recognize somatic movement patterns caused by emotional trauma and can change them through individual therapy, thus relieving the patient of pain and enabling his personal growth.
  • Can teach the principles of the AEQ method and AEQ exercises, alleviating and facilitating the elimination of the following chronic pains and problems: back pain, neck pain, sciatica, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel, knee pain, heel spur, hyperlordosis, hyperkyphosis, piriformis syndrome, thoracic syndrome, frozen shoulder, headaches, shallow breathing, migraines, tendonitis, muscle cramps, joint pain, chronic fatigue, tingling sensations in the palms and fingers, fibromyalgia, scoliosis, plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendon…

TEACHER OF THE AEQ METHOD, LEVEL 3

The transition from 2nd to 3rd level is like the transition from middle school to high school. The complexity of schooling is greatly increased for the teacher because a teacher who knows how to actively teach someone lying on his table has a much greater ability to influence the sensory-motor amnesia of the person he is working with. Greater influence, however, requires higher responsibility, concentration, stability, and depth and breadth of knowledge about the material work of man. Knowledge of kinesthetics, anatomy, and somatic connections of structure and function allows him to understand and explain the impact of SMA on posture, movement, and behavior that causes chronic pain and conditions. A level 3 teacher teaches more complex AEQ exercises, as the change in SMA in active learning is much greater and allows a person to have a greater sense and control over the body’s conscious movement. This allows for a stronger impact of consciousness on everyday life and a clearer recognition of actions and relationships, and the inability to make changes. It is precisely the recurrence of errors and the inability to understand the causes of this recurrence well enough that are the main reasons for the development of chronic conditions.
