AEQ is a method that helps us feel ourselves more realistically through a higher awareness of the body so we can learn to fulfill our needs appropriately. I am a teacher of AEQ method Level 5 and I work with clients with various movement and movement patterns issues daily. I am also the author of the book “Getting out of chronic pain with light movement”. I developed the 30-day program to make it easier for my clients to learn the AEQ method and to lessen the most common obstacles that they encounter when trying to lessen their sensory-motor amnesia (SMA).

The program creates increased orderliness and regularity of learning because the teaching is scheduled every day at the same time and is guided live. This is how we create a disciplined routine that increases motivation for regular participation with a teacher of the AEQ method. A common problem for new students is to overcome the subconscious resistance when wanting to execute the exercise. They find many excuses – not having the time or the chance. Participating in the program creates the need that we are ready to listen, follow the instructions and do the exercise. AEQ guided live creates a very distinctive influence

The main condition that helps eliminate SMA is to increase the ability and lessen the inability of having your conscious awareness in the present because this is the place where the body and the subconscious reside. This is the only way you can connect your conscious awareness with them, being in the same dimension of time as them under the same rules of gravity. The teacher that teaches the client also needs to subject to these rules but this is not possible when the teaching is not given live. The connection between the physicality of the teacher and the physicality of the student is key for getting to know the method and for preventing the creation of fear or anger inside the conscious awareness of the client that can be strong enough to cut off the clients’ motivation to learn the AEQ method. When this happens the ego gets scared and runs away into another time or location which makes it impossible to lessen SMA. The awareness that the teacher is there, present with the participant, watching him and correcting his behavior makes all the difference – you are not able to achieve this effect through replay.

Learning the AEQ method demands an understanding that changes the workings of conscious awareness; AEQ exercises need to be done at the same time to achieve the desired physical changes; then, you need to connect both to change your subconscious and SMA. This wholistic process is the one that creates real and lasting change. This is only possible when our conscious awareness is in the same time frame as the body; to lessen the fear and the anger in the awareness AEQ teacher needs to be in the present as well.

An important part of AEQ live trainings are the in-depth explanations of the principles of AEQ method and exercises, whenever the teacher estimates they are necessary. This is the part of the training where participants have the opportunity to ask questions and receives the answers they need which increases the overall understanding and the effect of the program. Q&A’s create additional insights and expand our awareness in regards to the feelings that we feel during the exercises and the feelings that we hear others people feel at the training. These insights show us and guide us toward the real reasons for our pain or issues with execution, and specific physical or mental reactions.

The influence of creativity and level of experience of an AEQ teacher on the execution of AEQ exercises

Leading the exercises in different ways, regularly, prevents the loss of conscious attention on the execution of the exercise. Increased creativity creates increased attention on how our body reacts to the exercise – this makes it easier for us to notice the undesired subconscious influence on the execution of the exercise. The more that we are able to notice it during the exercise the more we learn to notice it in the present moment which help us to gradually, consciously, change our subconscious reactions.

The 30-day AEQ programs have been designed in a way to create a deeper understanding of our sensory-motor processes through small steps – these are the processes that determine our movement, our behavior and our life. This knowledge is necessary for those who suffer the consequences of sensory-motor amnesia (SMA) because it increases their ability to direct enough needed attention into improving their interoception and pull more muscle sensations out of their subconscious into their conscious awareness. Changing the relationships inside the sensory-motor loop deeply affects and changes our way of thinking, responding and expressing because we begin to become more aware of our subconscious influence on our behavior which makes it possible for us to change or remove the patterns that don’t serve us anymore or even hurt us. AEQ program creates a safe space in which our conscious awareness has more courage to feel the realistic state in our body with which the need for sensory-motor amnesia (SMA) lessens – the need to cover up and hide our past.

Throughout the program the participants are in contact with an AEQ Level 5 teacher on a daily basis where they believe that they are getting the best possible guidance, leadership and teaching. This helps them feel and accept their SMA states and their excessive rigidity and effort that they feel during AEQ exercises. The transfer of insights that the exercises offer into their daily life and behavior is more wholistic and useful in this way. The everyday routine of doing the exercises at the same time additionally relaxes the overactivated sympathetic nervous system and lessens the average muscle tone.

Teaching AEQ exercises in the 30-day program is adapted to everyday learning and is therefore more thorough and detailed than teaching in individual sessions or one-day workshops because here I dedicate 5 hours per exercise. The teachings are mostly directed into improving interoception which changes the ability of the participants to feel, sense and accept the suppressed feelings from their bodies which lessens chronic tension and contraction and increases spontaneity.

We need to deal with the fact that we have shoved our negative feelings and memories under the armor of chronic contraction which caused us to lose a part of our spontaneity. This means that the consequences of increased relaxedness during our spontaneity’s return will be painful and unpleasant at first. When we take care of these states and admit to ourselves that they are in us we can start to increase our inner connectedness with which we lessen the limitations of our interoception and proprioception.

I regularly perform your exercises, 6-7x a week, and in such a way that I do not repeat them, or do them in the same way. I do different combinations of sequences and not always on both sides of the body equally. When I feel that one of the exercises takes more time to perform, I usually decide to do another one.

During the AEQ breathing program, for the first time, I consciously felt my diaphragm, how shallow my breathing was, and mainly, due to the tightness of the abdomen, only with the upper part of the lungs. During the day, I noticed that I was constantly tightening my stomach and abnormally pulling it in (partly due to obesity and shame until the end of my teenage years).

The exercises have become a routine, they help me relax and find my zen. I wasn’t consistent enough with them at first, I didn’t give them enough attention and didn’t dive deep enough into understanding them. The program for the bottom part of the body helped me to put myself back into the routine. I am creating more and more order in my relationships, I am more aware, and I am able to realize faster what do I want and what I not want and how to achieve that. I have lightness in my step. I maintained a daily routine of exercise, but only once a day. I think that it really helped that we worked together for 30 days, that it then became and remained a habit and it seems quite normal to me that I do the exercises for 20 minutes every morning.

The third week of the program brought a lot of changes in the way I feel things. For the first time ever, I clearly felt the blockade in my neck. Similar things are now happening in both sides of my torso. I can’t think of my neck as a whole in certain positions and I have trouble contracting it completely, even though it would make execution of an exercise easier.

Even though we completed our first ever exercise, you have already gained my complete trust. In today’s flood of charlatans, your method, accompanied by your dedicated guidance at every step, is reliable and, above all, very well-argued. I used to say to myself when asked various questions that you wouldn’t be able to answer…

Thank you, I am very pleased. The structure going forward also makes a lot of sense. I wrote the exercises in advance according to the numbers of the days of the month and I do them whenever I have the time and space for it. They keep me grounded and I am very comfortable with the rational basis of knowledge that once came to me through yoga.

The key component that made the difference for me is understanding the situation through explanation and, as a result, a new possibility of acting more efficiently. Even a partial awareness of the causes that led to SMO/SMA was enough for me to start turning the wheel again in the opposite direction, which led me to a crisis in which I considered visiting a psychiatrist and taking antidepressants. There was more relaxation, less passivity.

I have been dealing with hip pain for a while now. The results that I got back from traditional doctors have not shown anything special. They offered me painkillers but I rejected them because I knew this was not the right solution. The pain escalated at a workshop where two AEQ teachers were present. After talking to them, I decided to partake in the 30-day online AEQ program. The program helped me realize how much trauma I have stored in the area of my pelvis, hips and reproductive organs, my own and multigenerational.

Above all, the time devoted to leading the exercises – a maximum of 30 minutes – is a very good choice, as it allows me to receive information with a deeper awareness. Since there are not too many of them, my conscious part can process them without stress.

This was my second breathing program. Last year I attended the 60-day course, and this year I attended the 30-day one. Nine months have passed since the start of last year’s program and the end of this year’s. In between, there is training for the AEQ teacher’s Level 1. In short, a lot of things happened to me.

I took part in the 30-day AEQ program for the upper part of the body because I had issues in my upper back. At first, I thought that my problems were the result of my sedentary lifestyle but then I experienced an “aha moment”…

I decided on the 30-day exercise management program because I thought that this way, I would be able to exercise more regularly and with greater presence. When I was doing the exercises myself, I spent quite a bit of time reading. Then I tried to do it. When reading, I tried to remember as many things as possible so that I could use them during the exercise, which distracted me from my feelings. I wanted to memorize the exercise in its entirety as soon as possible so that I wouldn’t need to read it again.

I have been searching for solutions for many years with different teachers and therapists but I haven’t been able to achieve my desired results yet. I am glad that I finally found a teacher with an immense quantity of knowledge like you. This is the first time I’ve heard of the AEQ method and I can say that I am becoming friends with it because I am already seeing the effects of the exercises. What I love most is that the main focus is kept on the body – I’ve been ignoring this the whole time. I feel a release of various emotions during the exercises. I find that my body doesn’t always listen to me when I give it an order.

I heard about the AEQ method from my daughter after mentioning to her that I feel an escalation of tingling feelings from my left shoulder toward my neck. I also started having issues with carpal tunnel a few years ago, and I’ve been also feeling irritating itchiness around my left shoulder where I supposedly have a trapped nerve. I’ve known for a long time that I am overly contracted in my neck and shoulders and when you retire it supposedly only gets worse. It became clear later that AEQ is some sort of an emotional cleanse as well and can affect your emotional maturity, in other words, shows you who you really are authentically.

I would like to thank you for these last few insights…your words are so impactful and meaningful and I felt a strong resonance with them in my body when you said that we create change with action and not with intention. I realized that despite my previous interest in AEQ, I haven’t yet made the deeply felt action that I needed to because of my subconscious patterns and fears of being seen, of not being good enough and of appearing stupid. I thought it was enough to understand my patterns inwardly while I rarely made the right crucial outer steps and even when I did, they felt difficult.

It has been a year in March since I first visited Aleš. Before AEQ exercises my leg pain was unbearable. I had the most issues with my left hip. Sometimes the pain was so severe that I couldn’t make a step with my foot. After having an operation on my left hip my condition didn’t change, there were moments where it got even worse. My orthopedist suggested to block the pain in my left hip and operate the right hip. I am glad that I met with psycho-somatics at that time and decided to not have the operation.

So far, the 30 day workshop is the best way to learn AEQ exercises. With a great and accurate explanation for a better understanding of the causes of body stiffness, the exercises gain more depth. My understanding is improving daily, which allows my body to move more easily.

Ever since I joined the workshop, for the first time after 5 or 6 years, I no longer feel excruciating pain in my entire back and should when I play the violin. I can now actually play the entire, very demanding, 15-minute composition and not feel tired afterwards. I no longer suffer from blockages especially in my left shoulder or forearm (left and right hands), sometimes my lower back hurts a little, but not all the time.

The program is clear and logical, thanks to a good and thought out explanation given to its attendees. They also become aware of the importance of balance and harmony in life, in which time plays an invaluable role.

I decided to sign up to the program due to the chronic pain in my left hip and back, which appeared in the middle of December and was always present, sometimes more, sometimes less. After an active AEQ therapy, the feeling of pain became a bit stronger. With the start of the program, through your explanations, it soon became even clearer to me why the pain is still rising for me, warning me.

I just wanted to say that your 30-day program is better than any psychotherapy. The progress made is exceptional – I am gaining so many insights. I had an especially emotional day today – it was very difficult. Alenka Rebula came into my thoughts when she said: “put down all of your burdens, let the well flow, discover salvation and maintain it.

In short, a lot is happening. Everything from spasms, pimples, resistance, outbursts of anger, warm and cold waves of energy, awareness of the current state… to mention only the main sensations.

At first, I noticed how free my rib cage became and the increased ability to express happiness, love, and anger. Now I am learning how to use my anger more effectively – not suppressing it but also not going completely mad because, during the program, I also allowed myself this experience, which did not have the best effect on my relationships.

I joined this program because I learned, through previous programs, how very tense I am. I began learning how to relax and feel my muscles, as well as how to correctly perform and lead AEQ exercises. I realized how important correct nasal breathing is. Mine was the opposite. It was shallow, distorted, I was regularly hyperventilating, which you have pointed out to me several times.
